As the car begin to drive away he tensed up, tighting his grip and digging his claws into the seat slightly. He had only been in a vehicle a few times before and the ride was at first frightening.
It took a few miles but he finally peered out the window and watched the world go by. The interesting sights fascinated him and curiosity won out over fear. Pulling his claws free of the seat cushion he rested one on the door while looking out the window.

Mrrii laughed to herself as she watched the cat relax slowly, but surely. She was beginning to like him, now that he was regaining some of his feline dignity...
...but that didn't solve the problem of what she was suppossed to do with him...wake him...or not. Keep him...or not...

Now comfortable riding in the car he began to wonder about their destination, and the person driving. He turned his head slightly, still looking out the window but enough to address her and asked, "Where are we going? Are their others there?"

She was jerked from her thoughts by his question. "We are going to my home for the time being. The Manor DeFelinis. There are many...cats there, but none other like me" ...or you "there since my adopted father died."
She turned into the long, wooded drive to her home "I beleive you will like this place,or at least prefer it to the zoo...it is designed to make us comfortable.
Her face lost some of it's worry as she came upon eth large, stretching manor that was nestled by a wooded hill. It was good to be home...with the carved cats guarding teh door, and felines carved into every nook and cranny. At eth window she could see Ebon, a panther that lived here that was slightly more intelligent than most, yet not a sleeper, get up and stalk towards the door casually "You may cause a bit of a stir among the ladies" she hissed under her breathe.

He turned to face her fully now, eyebrows arched slightly and a smile on his face, "Really?" He chuckled a bit and looked back out the window watching the other cat approach.

Mrrii flexed her claws slightly, an irrational sadness coming over her. "Really. She won't come out to see you, it is still raining, so you'll have to go in an introduce yourself. I'm sure the rest will be along as soon as the door opens."
She stepped out of the car and walked up onto the porch, pausing by the door as she waited for Samson. I may leave him sleeping...awakening is no gift... she thought sadly. He'll live well here, and enjoy the ladies. she walked in, headed to her study, easily wading through teh milling cat flesh, ranging from household creatures to jungle cats. It was time to curl up by the fire with a book and get drunk perhaps.

He followed close behind her, watching the other cats and clearly nervous. He had rarely been around other animals before and this many all staring at him...he moved even closer to Mrii nearly causing her to stumble pressing into her legs.

She caught her balance by sinking claws into the door frame before she fell. With a silent snarl she turned to see who had bumped...and immediately tried to calm herself. "Samson, as they call you, why do you fear their curiousity?"

"I..." he moved over slightly to avoid being bumped by one of the cats. He lifted his paws carefully from the smaller ones and looked up to Mrii for help.

She raised her eyebrows in a moment of amusement then looked over at teh group of fur. "All of you, he is new and rather solitary. He will be in teh office with me for awhile, you may all drift through in small groups yto introduce yourselves...starting withthe littles in about ten minutes. For now, shoo!"
Oddly enough, they obeyed. She turned back to teh office and sauntere din, stretching full length on a low couch in front of the fire and half shifting again to a more comfortable, half feline form.

He followed her into the office, watching the other cats leave. "Thank you," he said softly when they had gone. "Guess I didn't expect that many." he smiled uneasily while slowly wandering around the room, looking around.

She simply nodded, letting the warmth soak into her fur with a low purr "You are not an incredibly...social creature." she observed.
"Don't truly blame you" she sighed, stretching and curling on her side to see he pictures on the mantel. A great deal of them featured a slim, black man and Mrrii herself, she at about age twelve or thirteen, him in about his thirties.
The room itself was filled with interesting tables and couches as well as mats. There were dangling things, beads, and the like hanging randomly. One piece of furniture seemed almost out of place, a large, wooden, locked desk with a single score of deep claw marks along the side. "What am I to do with you?" she asked rhetorically.

He ignored her comment, having no response to it other than admitting that it was true. He trailed around the room, lightly sniffing at objects and poking at a few of the dangling items. When he came to the desk he looked back at Mrii, tempted to ask but didn't. Instead he measured his own claws against the scores then went to investigate something else.
When he came to the fire place he rose up to his hind legs to get a better look at the pictures. Noticing that her and another took up a majority of them he couldn't stifle his curiosity anymore. "Who is this?"

She was startled for a moment, her adopted father's voice ringing in her mind You see Mrrii, oen difference, one way you can alwasy tell, is that cats, normal cats never see lines against lines and make sense of them. They can't see photographs, or writing...or want to. "That is lord Hrr of DeFelinis Manor. My adopted father. A very kind man, and I loved him dearly."

"You look happy," he noted then nodded, dropping away from the mantle and padding around in front of the fire for a spot that suited him. Finding a comfortably warm area he lay down and began to groom his fur, drying out the last of the moisture and cleansing away the mud and soil. When he had finished his coat he worked on his paws, careful of his tender flesh.
