(let's try to keep this un' light.)
Wisgoth puttered around the shop, arranging hte stuff on the shelves. Claire's Horrors was well known for it's charms. But a lot if other things took up shelf space.
Wisgoth looked at Claire, who was sleeping on the window sill. She flicked her black tail, apparently hunting something in her sleep.
"And so begins another day in my life, eh Claire?" Wisgoth said conversationally. He didn't expect Claire to answer. She was alseep, after all.

Lee stuck her head in the door, the myriad bells, both in her hair and on the door, chiming madly. "Hey Claire. Heeeeey Mr. Wisgoth!!" she called.
She peered into the depths of the shop, wistfully eyeing a few items and then spotting the object of her hunt "Hey Mr. Wisgoth! Is it alright if I set up outside?" it was always polite to ask, no need for anyone to call the cops that way.
Lee didn't look like much...jeans that were more careful patch than full cloth...a shirt that seemed to made up of scarves...waist length hair always braided in a hundred little braids with bells and beads...she looked a little worn around the edges, but she was a good kid in most eyes, if you overlooked a little dirt.
She used to tell fortunes...but now she did minor street magic. She never told anyone why she stopped telling fortunes, or where she went after dark...all anyone knew was the bright spangled street urchin cum gypsy was usually found outside the curio shop, rain or shine.

Claire was starled awake by the arrival of Lee. Wisgoth chuckled as Claire flicked her tail in annoyance.
"It's fine with me. You know we love to have you around. Don't we Claire?" Wisgoth gave Claire a playful look. He turned back to the girl.
"Would you like some help setting up? I'm not doing much."

Lee smiled "Nah, I got it handled, besides my friends and fans shoudl be here soon" she said the last with a bit of sarcasm. "YOu two just have fun and bug the hell out of your apprentice"

Wisgoth laughed. "I think I'll take your advice on that." Wisgoth raised his eyebrows at Claire. "What do you think Claire?"
Claire flicked her tail and yawned at Wisgoth, before jumping onto a shelf, knocking over a stack of rolled paper that had taken Wisgoth quite sometime to get right.
"That was just mean, Claire." Wisgoth glared at Claire. Claire glared back.

Lee giggled and stuck her tongue out at Claire. Then she retreated back onto the front sidewalk, waiting for folks to come.

Riva watched Lee set up. Riva squinted, tucking a bit of her short brown hair behind her ear, wishing for something to hold it back. She decided to wait until the other girl had her stuff set up to approach. Riva stared at Lee's thigns, her tatooed fingers twitching expectantly.

Lee's setup was simple. She had a battered leather hat that she set a few feet in front of herself, a silk tophat on a low table...and she was ready.
Her eyes scanned teh street. She enjoyed her new life, justa simple magician, making people smile...she never had to tell how she did her tricks...life was good.

Riva watcehd, sure that there had to be more set up thant he minimalistic aproach. She frowned, chewing her lip.
Riva decided that maybe that was it. She frwoned and pulled a pair of glvoes on, hiding her tatooed fingers. It was usually bed for people to see what was written there. Especially people who owned shops.
Riva strolled up to Lee, pretneding to be an average tourist.
"What is the hat for?" Riva asked, lokoing curious and scornfuil, the way any normal person would look.

Lee looked up and smiled, nodding her head politely "Hello my Lady Riva. The beat up looking hat is for tips, the top hat is for tricks. Which do you wish?"

(ooc Lady Riva? Hmmm. NEw plan.)
"How about both. I was going to see Claire about a matter of importance, but now I remember that she's currently not herself." Riva siad the last with a bit of a chuckle.
"I could use a little amusement. So please, your best trick."

((She tends to call all customers lady or lord, but this works to ;D))
Lee smiled "Of course" She held one hand out, palm down over the top hat.
"Magic is a simple thing" she said quietly "Jut a passing light across the eyes...here for a moment, to dazzle...to make one smile...then gone in a gust of wind...but to even behold that moment is to touch your youth once more..." she removed her hannd and a cloud of jewel bright butterflies began to drift in their lazy way upward. A veritable swarm of color and gentle flight. The settled on the table, then launched, circling the table, the people, flitting by the shop window,...and then they were gone.

Riva watched the butterflies, absoloutley dazzled.
"That was magnificent. Truely the best I've seen in a while. I love butterflies. So carefree. And they're beautifula dn colorful without havingt o go under a needle." Riva rubbed her hands.
Riva sighed and looked back at Lee. "Thank you." Riva pulled out a few coins and set them carefully in Lee's hat. The noise of money falling always grated on her nerves.

Angelo walked up jauntily. "Hello hello My Love," Angelo greeted Lee as he always did, and always had. he was a shop regular, and had been her first customer. she perforemed a similar trick with dragonflies, and as far as anyone who knew him knew, he was smitten from that point on.
he set a peacelily on her table and bowed himself. "You're B-E-A-Utiful as ever Lee." Angelo was actually a white boy with long brown hair. it came to his shoulders, and he sometimes tied it back in a ponytail, but not today. his looks were always erratic as he sometimes forgot to shave. he was an emancipated teen living away from the orphanage. he had no relatives and was living fairly comfortably on his parents inheirtance. he never failed to leave Lee with less than a C note. his profession, so he told people, was a writer, which was why he came to the store. he was a fantasy writer and used the store and its owner for referance.
"So is today the day you go on a date with me, fair Lee?" he asked.

Lee bowed to Riva with a smile "My pleasure...."
Then she turned her attention to Angelo "Good morning Angelo. No, today, like always, I earn my keep." she did pick the peace lily and smell it's gently scent...then writhed, becoming pillar if white flame, then a dove.
Despite herself, she liked Angelo, they were two of a kind almost...except she had no inheritance to fall back on. "Claire's in a playful mood and Mr. Wisgoth's apprentice hasn't shown up yet...so they may be a bit snappush."
