I Know i do a lot of new stuff but gimme a break. this one is fantasy.
Mycroft sat and read the prophesy again. 'When the shadow of darkness covers the land only by retrieving the eight staffs of power and blessing them inthe blood of a gentle hurricane may the darkness be banished. two for each of the four peoples of the land; The elves, the Dwarves, the nature Sprites, and Man. scattered to the winds and in horrid places the staffs are hidden. but recover them the champions of the land must, lest the world remain in darkness.' Sir Mycroft, the chosen champion of the western Humans sat in his castle awaiting the arrival of the other chosen champions. two from the nature sprites, two from the elves, two from the Dwarves, and one from the ones to the east. he feared for the land. for Godai was a powerful evil. he had never faced anything that strong. and he was not eager to.

(Relax, plotlines are good. Anything that keeps the imagination going is alright here)
Shae slid silently among the trees. A runner had come, from the light elves...asking for a champion...to rescue the staves of power. She smiled.
There was no need. In fact...the runner had left, unanswered. THose of the dark needed no light elves...
...but just perhaps...for the chance to see the other staves...
She might venture into the light for that. She caressed the ebon staff she had found years ago...in a crypt...her shadow stave. Perhaps...just perhaps...
Hey, she had been getting bored anyway. She drew the hood of her cloak up and started towards the human lands, a whispery shadow herself.

Twenty lesser fairies, the normal handservants of the Nature Sprites, flittered around a single Sprite primping her. combing her hair, putting the final touches on her. her hair was a bright yellow, but her skin a dark earthen brown. behind her knelt another Sprite whose hair was a pure white, and skin was a light blue.
"Princess Thundora, is it wise to bring me. if your brother is to be the other champion, then should not you be the only to go?"
The darker skinned Sprite turned. "Cyclonia, you have been my handmaiden since we were both children. i trust no one more than i trust you. the truth is, i fear to travel with stranger. even my brother is a stranger to me, having been raised by the dwarves under the earth. I want someone i can trust, that is you Cyclonia."
Cyclonia bowed her torso and said, "If you command it, so I shall."
Thundora shook her head and pulled her up. "Cyclonia, how many times must i tell you. YOU need not bow to me. you are my friend."
Cyclonia stood and said, "As always milady, at least once more."
Thundora smiled at her handmaiden's wit and said, "We must be off, the others wait for us at the castle of the Knight. Father has given us one of his trusty Cumulos to ride." she said stepping onto a cloud and kneeling. Cyclonia did the same and they sped off to the castle (OOC: these can be NPC if you want. only Thundora is a champion. oh and they have control of only one element each. their name should give it away.)

(At least once more Ms. Swann?! NPC sounds just fine, I'm bringing in the Dwarves...we still need...what...another human and another elf?)
Gongrol Stonesoul tapped his foot, the sounds like a hammer pounding through his brother, Svernin, head. "Ouch you stupid blighter! Stop that!"
"Well, you're the mossrat that decided to drink as much as you did knowin we was leavin early..."
"It was a bleedin feast! Of course I did! And none would say me the loser in that contest..."
"You're right, rumble belly, you won. Now move."
"Awwwww, gravel!"
The two brave brothers stumbled out the great doors of the mine and started towards the hall of the human lord.

Humans, by nature were a self serving race. They cared only for thier own affairs and very little about all others around them. And as such, they were also a cowardice kind. Any mission or quest that would put them in harms way was one to be avoided, especially when a reward was not made obvious. They had managed to thrive during the darkness so why risk anything to end it. Perhaps even ending it would be harm in itself. No, they would continue on as they had and if any danger presented itself directly then they would deal with it. But only then.
Arkin heard this decision from his position in the rafters of the main meeting hall and listened as every one agreed. Sneering at the others foolishness and selfish spirit he left the hall. Having been there only because he had heard of the quest he made a decision to answer the call himself. It was obvious these weak palps of flesh would do nothing and so he left, off to the meeting. Calling to his companion as he reentered the woods, his prefered home and sanctuary.
The black furred wolf emerged, leading his horse and Arkin mounted, riding to meet this new challenge.

(Last member that we can't predict, steal the spot or NPC her if you want.)
Her people walked her to the edge of the clearing. the clearing was a sacred place to the elves she was from. it was a place from which great beasts could land. The woman at the center of the procession was the chosen champion. her name was Leelonan. in the language of her people it meant "strange dream". she was known as strange because of the fact that she did not love men. she was infact what would come to be known in many centuries as a lesbian. but among elves she was not shunned, nor was she hated or even thought less of. she was merely seen as different.
it was widely acknowledge that she was the greatest fighter of their tribe, and indeed of all the light elves. thus as a warrior she had been given the singular honor of her steed. as she entered the clearing she raised her arms to the sky and called "Kaeko!" heavy beating of wings followed as the great Griffon landed. its talons and beak were all razor sharp, its haunces rippled with muscle, and its wings were epansive. she said to them in her language, "I shall go forth with honor, live with honor, and if need be, die with honor." she mounted Kaeko and they flew off for the knight's castle.

It took a solid week of travel to reach the appropriate human dwelling...but that didn't bother Shae...she was used to her own company. if any saw her, it was as a fleting shadow with a balk claok and staff secure dto her back...perhaps a spectre of death...and the superstitious made signs on their chest to ward off bad luck.
It was amusing of course.
She soon found herself in a library, a small, comfortable one...For an important person of the era, he sure has poor security she thought scornfully as she perused book titles and waited.

The tip of a blade was pressed into the back of her neck. "Explain quickly or I will take care of you."

"About time human. Was the trail of comatose guards that hard to follow? It is in your best interest to remove the blade, I can only over look such manners for so long before my anger overrides my curiousity."

"Tell me why you are here then i remove my blade. I admit that my guards are inept, but they are my uncle's children, I had to hire them." he told himself to be wary. he could sense that this person was not human.

She sighed, this was getting boring...certainly not worth the travel...yet.
She ducked in a swift, clean motion, leaving naught but her cloak hanging on the blade and spun, holding her own long dagger to the man's throat. She smiled sweetly, the trade mark dark elven hair of pure white above skin like obsidian. Suprisingly, her eyes were a pale lilac...and she was a whopping five feet and two inches tall.
"Now, shall we both stand down to more pleasant conversation or shall we dance?" she answered with a feral grin.

Mycroft smiled "Your good. and an elf. your people arent normally known for your battle skill, only for knowledge." he sheathed his sword. and looked back annoyedly at her dagger. "Put that away woman, it wont peirce my mesh collar" he pulled down the collar from around his neck to reveal a mesh of chainmail. "are you an Elven Champion?"

She laughed, balanced the dagger for a moment and sheathed it "I was not going to aim for your throat. That was simply for show. Had it proven necessary, that collar of yours leaves the underside of your chin rather vulnerable. I do hope you remedy that before we travel on, it woudl be apity to lose you to such an avoidable weakness."
She scooped her cloak off the floor and settled it back around her shoulders, drawing the hood once more. "As for the elven champion, I, am a dark elf...one certainly not approved by the light bretheren, and of a people well known for death dealing. You could call me...curious."

Mycroft smiled. "I can appreciate curious. In my opinion, thats the defining human characteristic, Curious" he picked up a crystal bottle, "Brandy?" he offered as he pourd a glass. "this collar is just for wear around the home, I'm a might paranoid, when we travel I shall be in full armour and mail. which dreadfully means a full hood of the bloody stuff and an helm."

She sighed, accepting a glass that she passed a ring over before drinking. "And a great deal of noise. This is not to be a stealthy quest then..." she sounded almost...aggrevied.
