She almost relaxed a bit, like it or not these two had always been a constant in her life, even when she was trying to be normal. Being pushed on teh swing by one of them almost seemed right.
She'd probably look back on it though and be disgusted with herself.
"I don't want to be a monster" she whispered.

"And I shall tell you who I am and why I follow when you accept who you are." He replied. "And who says you are a monster? People? People don't matter. You are a treasure, something unique to be lauded and praised. And you will be."

"Honestly..." the other sighed softly. "A monster? No, you're not a monster...well, maybe by others' standards, but, as he's already said, they don't matter. All great things are seen as evil at first, then a necessary evil, then as acceptable, and finally as good...why should you be any different?"

She sat dully, trying to be angry at their words, trying to find the well that always sent her running away from ...and was just too tired to do so right now.
"But I'm a kid. I'm a human kid...right?" she almost pleaded for the answer. She wanted to beleive she was.

He turned his head up and scratched his chin murmering, "Well...mostly...partly...but touched and so gifted." He removed his hand from his chin and pointed to her arm, "You are marked."

"Kid, of course. Human...depends on the definition of the term." the other smirked, continuing to push her idly.

She rubbed her arm self consciously. Marked, yeah, and a creepy birth mark it was to. Some got spots, some got lines of freckles...she got a dark bruise colored thorn rose.
Another facet of her really creepy life. No need for tattoos. "You never did explain that either" she sighed.
"I just want to be human"

"And there is your proof that you are at least, in part and to a flaw, human. Always wanting what they don't or can't have." He shook his head, "Never recognizing what they got. Wanting and wishing won't change a thing child."

"Better to enjoy what you have." the other enthusiastically purred, nodding. "Especially when what you have is so fun!"
