"ladies and gentlemen and what not, I believe we should be on our way." Mycroft lead the way down through his castle to the stables. the Centaurs bowed their torso respectfully but kept about their duties. Choose your steed." he said. "The Lizards are at the far end. they frighten the horses.

Shae walked down and waited near the gate, Shaper upon her shoulder "Why do you persist on flaunting your preference for my company over your sisters? She is your kind, and I, your kinds enemy..."
Shaper patted her shoulder "I have rarely met my sister, while you I have seen, as you came to the dwarven temple where I was fostered. I know what to expect from you"
"Indeed?"
Gongrol finally unsealed his brother's lips in exchange for help saddling the lizards...which were no where near as ill tempered as soldier mounts.
"I hope 'e bited ye Mud spleen" Svernin muttered on the way past.

Thundora waved her hand and the cloud descended once more to her. Cyclonia helped her onto it, and she took a kneeling postion upon it. then Cyclonia joined her.
Mycroft let out a sharp whistle and his horse came running by, he grasped the mane and swung himself upon her. she had not slowed at all. she wore no bit or riegn or saddle. he took her by a raised armory and slung a second sword upon his back, a coiled chain on his shoulder.
Kaeko landed near them already loaded to bear with arrows and a bow, and a sword. the halberd strapped tightly to Leelonan's back, she swung her leg over the Gryphon's back and mounted it proudly.

Teh dwarves had already clanked, with axes and hammers...and now they..slithered...
Shae sighed "My, we're such a subtle group..." Her only visible weapon was the felt wrapped stave on her back...knives abnd throwing darts, and of course, the traditional garrote were easy to hide.
Shaper chuckled. "This is a quest, so of course, it must be also a pageant..."
"Gods help us"

"Worry not Lady elf" Mycroft said looking down from his horse with an outstretched hand, "I feel we maybe able to take whatever comes our way. come, just because you could keep up walking, doesnt mean you should. only servants of the cruel walk when their companions ride." he gestured to a spot behind him on the horse. "she's a strong mare, and proud one at that. I'm sure she'd nary mind a second passenger."

"It is a matter of honor among my people to walk if one is whole. Should I be injured, I shall keep your offer in mind my lord"
vernin gambled up on his ungainly mount. "Leave the soot rotted gel to it then, she's left behind we replace 'er with someone with soum sense"
Shae smiled. "Feel blessed that your people have done me a good turn dwarf. You could not lose me if you tried."

Arkin observed the room and frowned. Sprites already at odds with a dark elf across the room, a human whose distrust of him was apparent, and two dwarves squabbling endlessly. Things didn't improve either, the entrance of a light elf was annoyingly grand, and the final Sprite added more heat to the confrontation with the other two and elf. Deciding to focus on the quest rather than the crowd Arkin listened to the two versus and then followed after the group.
The wolf trotted off once they were outside and returned shortly with the horse, who stomped in annoyance at Arkin. Arkin patted the animal, whispering an apology in its ear and mounted, the wolf standing close by.
Soon everyone was setting off and he had a choice to make. He looked at the two groups, one made of the human, sprites, dwarves and light elf, and the other consisting only of the dark elf and Shaper. He considered following the dwarves, since they were in fact the only two he actually knew but Gongrol's constant chiding was somewhat annoying and they traveled with Mycroft the human.
Drifting away from this group he took up the rear behind the second, smaller one. He remained just close enough to be a part of the party as a whole and listen to whatever conversations occured, but was distant enough that he the horse and wolf almost made up a new group themselves.

Shae sighed, watching the party begin to move, and extended a hand to the side, almost in welcome "You need not lurk human, as you are not truly good at it"
Shaper smiled "Yes, better left to those with reason to skulk. Walk with us, and your companions as well"

Arkin glanced down at the wolf who seemed to shrug then quicken its pace. A pack was much better than being a lone. Feeling the same way Arkin sped up just enough to close in then fell into step beside the elf. "Thank you, I'm sure this is going to be a hard enough trip without having to feel completely out of place the entire way."

Mycroft did not like this one trying to be out of their line of sight. he distrusted him already. He brought the mare around to the boy's side. "You seem to be... different from most people. why?"

Shae smiled, barely visible beneath her hood. "Out of place seems to be our lot in life. We best learn to laugh at those not with us"
Shaper blinked..."For a dark elf, you have a well developed sense of humor...I think I'm in love..."

Arkin smiled at the two's comment and was about to add a reply of his own when Mycroft came up. Face turning almost stoney he answered the man. "Maybe because I am. Or, maybe because your frame of referance for 'other people' is limited to royalty and your downcasted view of those beneath you. I am neither."

Mycroft's eyes flashed and angry look and he grabed Arkin by the arm. "Now see here. I view no man as below me or above me. i have a castle keep because i earn it. i charge the villagers for certain services, and make a goodly sum. dont assume you know me boy. and i detest royalty... they're too full of themselves, they think they need no one, alot like you."

"Gentlemen" Shae said, a hint of steel in her tone. "You both have earned and strived for what you are, let no one say less, but tearing each other to shreds will not improve our chances of completing this quest."
She pryed Mycroft's fingers off Arkin's arm and patted his hand gently "Shall we start over? Lord Mycroft of the people, may I present Lord Arkin of the furkin, child of the wood and valor to the man of wisdom and grace?"

The wolf had been traveling on the opposite side of the horse that Mycroft had come up on but was instantly there when the man grabbed Arkin's arm. Snarling and growling ferociously he hunched down, teeth bared and threatening.
Arkin glared at Mycroft.
Even the horse stopped and tensed, turning its head to shoot daggers at Mycroft while stamping a heavy hoof.
Arkin's hand slid into a fist as he looked angrily at Mycroft.
