"Oh, but you want to..." she whispered. "I can tell...so scared...so...frail..."
Svernin actually laughed "Eh, Dwarven Holy Water, gotta love it, not a drop of water in it. Gods bless...an demon's too. Dogwood ain't got no decent flavor. Drink up and pass here, I'm sick o' bein stuck in rock"

His arm lashed out and struck a tree. his fist went straight through. "I will wait if that is what our company decides. but do not call me a coward." he had not faced her at all as he spoke.

Ah, they were getting somewhere... "No, a coward would meet my eyes." she said with a grim smile.
Svernin finally seemed to notice the fight "Eh...a silver on the human"

"Do not push my patience elf." he said bluntly.
Saeful looked down at him. "Three I'll match that with seven beetle wings on the elf."
Leelonan had watched the entire transgression said, "Fifteen falcon feathers that they will not fight."

"Hmmm, you discuss patience now. Perhaps you would listen now. You were poisoned, yes, and part of that poison was rage. Get it out now or we will need a vigil on you all night, because you will explode for no reason. And that, human, will try MY patience, which is thin as it is."
Shae stood slowly, arrogant now. "A man who prizes reason, by the looks of your library shoudl understand that. If you do, well, take whatever action you must. I myself do not hold out high hopes for your comprehension."

letting emotion get the better of him he whirled around and took her by the throat. "You dont understand. it wasn not just violence i wished upon you." he had whipsered low so that no one else could hear him.
he recovered himself and released and stepped back. "I do not harm those who do good. My wife would not want me to..." he walked further away past Shae.

She smiled visciously "Been a long time since your wife's death...humans' are so frail..." she kicked backwards sweeping his feet from under him "We all know what was intended...Shaper almost cried blood fued on you, sweet bard he is."
She kneeled beside him and grinned, bending his arm back painfully but not in such a way to restrain him, this was, after all, for his benefit. She would most likely take the most damage here. "You do not hurt those who do good? How fortunate I am far from that."

"er un.." he grunted in pain. finally his arm launched straight foward and connected with her stomache carrying her foward through two trees. he grabbed his arm and held it back as if he were angry with it. as if it had acted on its own.

Well, they were small trees...She had suffered worse...and there was a cleric handy "Well...such sweet words for such a temper" she murmured, scoming to stand before him once more.
Her hand lashed our to hit, open palm, upon his face with the sound of lightening hitting the ground. "Not so...controlled are we?"

The scene was too much. Arkin was satisfied when the demon explained himself, but there was too much going on. The air was tainted and it was driving he and the others wild. Not as Mycroft had gone, but more of a restless uneasyness.
Mycroft snapping set the three instantly on thier feet, bristled and startled. Afraid of the other human's madness Barcon growled at Arkin and the horse nudged him away. When Arkin refused to follow Barcon snapped at him and grabbed a hold of his pant leg, tugging. Sharing an exchange of growls and looks the two argued until Arkin finally conceeded and with the others distracted by Mycroft and the demon the trio slipped away into the woods.

"My wife died a fortnight ago. and she was not frail. she fought against seven demons sent by Godai like a tigress. all to save an infant she did not know." he had not even flinched at her slap, but rather had taken her by the throat again. "She was a great woman, of whom you have no right to speak." he slammed her against a tree. "She is the reason i put the word out for the champions and it is in her name that i carry this quest." his breathing was enraged. his mind was coloring his vision red. he squeezed her throat. "Now never speak of my rage, my wife, or my mind again ELF"
Leelonan held up her falcon feathers, "I loose... unless of course neither of them is beaten into submission. that would be not fighting."
"nay, they have fought, only surrender or loss comes now." said Saeful.

The trees were getting annoying. Very annoying. She'd be more bothered if she could breathe though. Hit a nerve... she grated to herself. Lucky her, the last slam hadn't had the terrifying force of the demon enhanced...he was working it out of his system...
She smiled again. She was thinking she would have liked Mycroft's wife...they would have had something in common...
Her choices were narrowing with her vision...hurt Mycroft or pass out...she knew the healer was spent until he rested...and she had survived worse...and she had lost her pride long ago. If she woke up...she had to ask Cyclonia something...that thought made her smile too. She didn't even bother trying to prolong the darkness.
Svernin smiled "I knew 'e had it in him! Forge toasted elf didn't have a chance! Pay up!"

Arkin heard the shouts and jeers from the group as he sat down near a small stream. He wanted to go and see what was happening, help if he could but the two animals wouldn't allow him. It was thier job to protect him, he being not only thier friend and brother, but important to their kind for some reason he had yet to discover.
Battles, face to face confrontations, even a quest such as this they would allow him to take on because they trusted him to hold his own in such events. Knew he was skilled enough to survive most, and they would be able to help during the others. But, the man's rage and maddness had disturbed them, set thier senses on edge and created a problem they knew nothing of.
So, Arkin sat and waited, listening for evidence that the situation had been resolved or that he should move on alone. As time wore on he grew restless and impatient. "We need to know what's going on." he growled at the wolf.
Giving it some thought and knowing that Arkin would not be satisfied otherwise the wolf gave a short bark up into a tree. A few moments later a small sparrow hopped down to a lower branch and looked down at the three.
"Have you been listening?" Arkin asked and the small creature nodded, "Then go see what's happening, be careful little one and try not to let them see you okay?"
With a flutter of small grey wings the sparrow flittered off back towards the gambling party.

Mycroft released as Shae passed from consiousness. he stepped back. "no" he whispered. he backed up and out of the clearing until his horse, still saddle and reinless blocked his path. he tried to leave but the horse would not let him.
Saeful opened his money purse, which he mentioned happend to be the dried stomach of an insurgent demon, and payed the Dwarf his beetle wings.

Svernin eyed the purse appreciatively "Huh...sounds like a durned good use...I'll have te keep that in mind..."
Shae didn't stay out long. Once she could breathe, she began to swim into conscioudsness. Her first realization was that she was laying on her back...and that hurt. A great deal...except where it was numb...and that scared her...
She opened her eyes slowly, fighting the urge to hiss or scream...and istead whispered. "Cyclonia?"
