with one last scream of pain and anguish Mycroft's breathing slowed and came in short pants. he looked at them the people hovering over him.
he shuddered and felt a tear streak down his cheek.

Shae looked him over and held out a hand "Appears you have decided to live for now" She also offered her othe rhand to Gonbgrol, who was a little unsteady "Good work dwarf. I am impressed. Shall we return to the party?"
Shaper fluttered down in front of Mycroft's face "Are you well now?"

"I wont try to hurt her again . . ." he started to leak tears.

Shaper settled on his chest to stare him in the eyes while Shae busied herself steadying a dwarf. "You weren't just going to hurt her, human." he said lowly and dangerously. "She forgives easily. Be grateful."
He gestured and the stone melted away from Mycroft. Shae's hand was there again to aid eth human up "Our party" she prompted gently. She didn't ignore his tears, nor did she turn away. In her culture, tears were shared and acknowledged, and left in peace.

"I'm sorry for my weakness," he said quietly. "I, believe that it is obvious that i am not a champion.

Shae laughed, easily supporting both men with Shaper hovering "Do not be so quick to judge yourself, that is for the staves to decide. A true weakling would not have been able to recover no matter what type of ais was rendered."
She led them to the clearing where the companionswaited and gently deposited them. Seeing no one was going to do anything stupid, she went back to gather Mycroft's discarded gear.

he looked them each in the face and then averted his own. he couldnt bear to look at them. he felt like a failure.
Leelonan was standing off by herself, trying to control her emotions. if she did not, she would be of no use to him.
Cyclonia was watching as Thundora approached the Demon master.
"You are a royal sprite, an honor to meet on of my own stature from the enemies side." Saeful said with a bow to Thundora

Shae took her time...she was seriously reevaluating her participation in this endeavor..."But, they would be doomed without me..." she really didn't need more innocents on her conscience.
She drifted back into the group and deposited the weapons at Mycroft's feet. She looked around...they were goign to be here awhile it seemed. Night was aproaching, and no one besides her and perhaps the dwarves were suited to night travel. She slumped back against a tree and removed her shirt, keeping the cloak about herself. If they were going to natter on, she could repair damages.
Shaper perched on her shoulder and whistled softly "Are you sure he didn't catch teh skin?"
Shae simply glared "I am not bleeding." then she began stitching the shirt.

Mycroft stood and began to place his weaponry on again, until he came to the dagger. he threw that into the ground and left it. he shook himself to realization and said, "We must press on. we've no time to dally. the world depends on us.
Thundora bowed with only the most basic respect.
Saeful nodded to her and to Mycroft. "I concur with the human. there is the staff of courage left within the tomb. the mount of dragons holds the staffs of light and strenght. the others are unkown to me. my demons are searching though.
Leelonan straightened herself and rejoined the group, her mind undercontrol once more. she acknowledged her need for companionship in her feelings, but did not want those feelings to interfere with her quest.
Saeful thought deeply to himself. he disliked the sprites from the word go. he liked the dark elf, but didnt yet have an opinon on the light elves. he had not even spoken to the dwarves yet.

Sha glanced up, halfway done with her stitching. "Darkness is falling. TO press on now, in your states, is not suggested. I would not like to seek out new companions simply because you pushed yourselves to exhaustion and beyond." SHe bent her head once more to her task.
Svernin was turning purple. "Let, me the bloody hell go! It's A Bloody Demon!"
Gongrol sighe dnad sat down "No, I'm keepin ye from gettin yerself killed. Iffen ye don't shut up, I'll kill ye meself."
Svernin blinked "...oh."

Saeful leaned down looking at the dwarves smiled a crooked smile. "I like this one" he said of the struggling Dwarf. "IF you wish after this is journey is complete, we can do battle."
Mycroft didnt turn to look at Shae, "We must continue, we cannot allow Godai any more time to spread his evil than he has already had."
Cyclonia shook her head. "As much as I hate to agree with the Dark elf, she is right. we must rest and continue in the morning."
"I agree" said Thundora.
"I too reluctantly agree" said Leelonan.
"WE HAVE TO CONTINUE!" Mycroft said. "We have to destroy that thing. we cannot let anyonelse get hurt."

That was it..."MYCROFT!" Shae stood up, letting the half mended shirt fall to the ground. "We understand your fear, it is only natural. We understand your need to take out agression, fine, I'll spar with you. But if you attempt, ever again, to lead this party beyond it's ability to go on safely before we reach our goal, I will break you, slowly."
She allowed a semi-sadistic smile to cross her face, eerie in the half light, her teeth shining in the dark. "It will make the demon blood a dream, I promise you" If reason coudl not reach him, perhaps this would. AT least it may anger him enough to vent on her rather than himself.
Svernin was glaring up at the demon lord, hardly distracted by the elf this time "Sure ye horn faced, toad footed braggart!"

Mycroft vibrated with anger, but Shae was the last person he wanted to fight. if only it had been Gongrol or Arkin, or Svernin. even one of the sprites, but not Shae.
Saeful divided his attention between the confrontation of Shae and Mycroft, and his own with Svernin
"My dear dwarf, braggart would intone that i had bragged, but i did not predict at all the out come of our battle." his smile grew and was more twisted than before.

Hmmm...time to dig deeper...he needed to release that anger or risk reversion...She glared around the small clearing, warning the rest of the party members clear.
Gongrol seemed to understand and simply nodded. He would have been doing the same if the healing of such inmical poisons hadn't worn him so thin. Shaper was ont happy but he backed off.
Shae...laughed. "Oh, how easily you have fallen Mycroft. Such hubris...so typical. It is always the strong seeming that break so easily. Perhaps I was wrong to support the humans in this endeavor. Go, leave, I shall lead these onward, and you can go rot in your stone keep." she sneered. She crouched in the center of the clearing, challenge in every line of her body "Run"
Svernin grinned suddenly. "I like ye. Ye got guts fer a demom. I aoin't allowed te kill ye fer now...so...drink?"

Mycroft shook. "I wont... I wont.... I wont run" he growled through his teeth.
Saeful smiled broadly as he took a deep swig. "You do realize it is impossible to poison a demon with anything other than large amounts of dogwood which i dont taste in here."
